Cookie Policy
The cookie and on-device storage used by soundlevel.net
Updated
Introduction
This policy explains the small amount of browser storage soundlevel.net uses. The site does not use advertising or targeting cookies. Self-hosted Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics measure website usage without setting analytics cookies.
Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies are small text files a site asks your browser to store. Local storage is a separate browser feature that lets the site keep settings and data on your device without sending that data back with every request.
What We Store
The language switcher may set one first-party cookie named PARAGLIDE_LOCALE. It records only the language you selected.
The site uses local storage for:
- Theme and language preferences
- Meter settings, such as weighting, response, thresholds, and calibration offset
- Measurement history and overnight sessions that you choose to save
Microphone audio is not placed in cookies or local storage. It is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.
Analytics
Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics collect anonymized page and performance data without analytics cookies. They do not receive microphone audio, saved measurements, or contact-form content. Umami respects the browser's Do Not Track setting.
Managing Stored Data
You can remove the language cookie and local data through your browser's site data controls. The measurement and overnight tools also provide controls for clearing saved sessions.
Blocking browser storage may prevent preferences or saved measurements from persisting, but the site's public pages remain available.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the site's storage behavior changes. The date above records the latest revision.
